Declined Cards and Invitations to Rob

I worked as a cashier for quite a while. It’s a very interesting job. Here you are placed in a situation where you can learn a lot about a person just by how they act and the things they buy.

For instance:

When someone’s credit card is declined there is almost always a universal reaction. The very first thing that happens is the customer feels obligated to tell you exactly how much money they have in their account. No one’s first thought is ever “Oh, the machine malfunctioned”, nope, it’s always some form of “I have X-amount of money in the bank”.

Now, I understand that people don’t want to look poor in front of others but really, by stating how much money is in your account aren’t you pretty much advertising to anyone standing around you “Rob me, I have money!”… seems like a poor choice to me
